BARCLAYS ‘History is Anyone’s’

In 2019, Iris orchestrated a record-breaking partnership with Barclays and the FA Women’s Super League - the largest amount of money ever invested into the women's game. Finally, women's football had a shot at being on the same playing field as the men's game, meaning football history was set to be made.

We created the launch campaign for the first season of the new Barclays Women’s Super League. Its aim was to drive awareness of the historical moment in football history. We landed on the idea ‘History is anyone's’ and wrote the launch film ‘The Team Talk’ which was directed by Stink’s Tom Green. Accompanying the films were a series of print and OOH, shot by Dan Ross. The campaign highlights the opportunities for the women’s game, as unnamed statues, stadiums and headlines show how girls can be the next icons, heroes and legends in football.
